Arts and Commerce College, Nagthane started in June, 2000 in a village called Nagthane. It is affiliated to Shivaji University, Kolhapur. It is 15 kms away from Satara and 110 kms from Kolhapur on NH-4. The village is known for ginger farming. There is no other College in the vicinity of Nagthane. The people living in the surrounding villages are poor farmers and socio-economically backward.
